Retraction policy

Journal of History and Cultural Studies (JHCS) will retract articles in cases of:

  • Scientific Misconduct: Fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
  • Ethical Violations: Breaches in ethical standards related to research involving human subjects or animal testing.
  • Data Integrity: Issues such as data manipulation or reporting of fraudulent findings.

Retraction Process

The editorial board, upon discovery of an issue that requires retraction, will:

  1. Inform the authors and share with them all the issues raised, then allow them to respond to the challenges.
  2. If the response is unsatisfactory or if there are indications of misconduct, the article will be retracted.
  • A notice of withdrawal will be published, and it contains the reasons why the paper has been retracted.
  1. Therefore, the article in question will be appended with ‘RETRACTED’ while the citation of the material moving forward will include the retraction note.

Author Appeal

Authors can appeal the retraction decision with supporting evidence or clarification. An independent board of experts will review appeals so fairness will be maintained.
